Karen's taking a nap, and Megan's with her grandfather today. And Liam felt it was time to introduce the newest arrival to more of his friends in the bar.

Hence, former rock star in the bar with a baby. All comers welcome.

The door opens, letting in suburban sounds, and there's a few familiar faces--and a new one.

The Pace family has a new arrival.

Liam comes in, Megan in tow, and smiles when he sees the bar.

"Finally, it works when I have time."

Charlie's at the piano, playing "Hallelujah" with his eyes closed.

Not singing at the moment--just enjoying the rolling chords under his fingers, the pitch-perfect sound of the piano, the memories he associates with this song.

Yesterday Charlie got paid, which is always a good thing. He comes downstairs and lays a few of the bills on the bar top. "Me and Darien, please, love," he says and smiles, pleased, when both their totals god down ( Read more... )

Charlie returns to Milliways from a day in Las Vegas feeling pretty pleased with the world, but nannying for a goddess of comfort will do that to a person.

Time for a late lunch/early supper and a bit of reading, perhaps.

Angela, for the second day in a row, is actually feeling pretty happy.

And right now, she is sitting at the bar, with a hamburger and fries and a chocolate milkshake, and also a book.

She's reading the Princess Diaries. Yes, again.

What, it's fun! Even brainy, nerdy girls like fun reads.

She'd love to talk to people!

Liam comes in smiling. Then he sees a certain sign, as he approaches the Bar, and the smile fades.

It vanishes entirely by the time he's finished reading the letter that shows up with his drink, and he slumps visibly on his stool. After a few minutes, he raises his glass to the empty air behind the Bar, glumly.
